Butterflies, India and More -Sykesville-
It’s been our school’s tradition to kick off a new school year by welcoming Monarch caterpillars to our classrooms! We watched for weeks as they fed on milkweed, before they got in their J position…They are all now inside their chrysalises and will soon emerge as beautiful Monarch butterflies:). In a couple of days, we will celebrate our harvest festival…This year, two musicians from India will play the sitar and tabla at the festival! A henna artist will be there as well:). In the classroom, our shelves were filled with lessons about butterflies, India and Autumn. Have you seen us in traditional Indian clothes?! The girls loved wearing bindis on their foreheads…They looked very pretty! We also fixed ourselves macaroons and mango lassi: delicious snacks from India! YUM:).
