Dinosaurs and More -Primary- Taylorsville

The children had a blast exploring a dynamic and engaging unit on dinosaurs that combined science, art, and sensory play. They began by burying miniature dinosaurs inside “dinosaur eggs” made from a mixture of baking soda, cornstarch, and water, then delighted in retrieving them by pouring vinegar over the eggs, creating an exciting eruption of bubbles. The children also created vibrant dinosaur prints on watercolor paper, using wet green and brown bleeding tissue paper as a background. They made fossil impressions with coffee dough and painted wooden dinosaurs using crayon shavings, which they melted with an iron to achieve a colorful, textured effect. While immersed in their dinosaur discoveries, the children also continued their seasonal lessons on hibernation and winter, deepening their understanding of the natural world.
