Butterflies, Mexico and Autumn Fun -Primary- Taylorsville
We kicked off the new school year by receiving Monarch caterpillars! For weeks, we watched patiently as they vigorously fed on milkweed leaves, built their chrysalises and finally emerged as beautiful butterflies:). Meanwhile, our shelves were filled with delightful lessons about butterflies, their life cycles, their different kinds, as well as the names of their body parts…Did you know that a Mariachi band came to our harvest festival this year?! During the weeks preceding the festival, we learned about Mexico, made delicious cheese quesadillas and bunelos, looked at the art work of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo and much more:). We just can’t wait for more fall lessons to fill our shelves!
