Japan, Butterflies and More -Taylorsville-
We kicked off our school year with a joyous Harvest Festival! This year, we invited a musician who played Taiko drums for us and our families:). During the weeks preceding the festival, we learned about the amazing culture of Japan…We colored flags, looked at pictures of people and places in Japan, listened to Taiko music, created beautiful cherry blossoms’ art, matched the artwork of Katsushika Hokusai, among so many more fun lessons! Did you know that we made our own sushi?! It was delicious! We also fixed ourselves some exotic Sakura Mochi and enjoyed it with tea, the Japanese way:). Our Monarch caterpillars are doing really well! They eat a lot of milkweed leaves! Soon enough, they will turn into beautiful butterflies and we will let them fly in nature! Have you seen our shelves?! They are bursting with many lessons about Autumn:). Happy Birthday Adam, Addison and Lucy:).
