Monarch Butterflies, Polish Harvest Festival and Autumn -Primary- Taylorsville
We kicked off our new school year by welcoming Monarch caterpillars! Our classroom shelves were filled with exciting lessons about Monarch butterflies, their life cycles, the names of their body parts, etc…, not to mention the beautiful butterfly artworks we created:). Our school has a tradition of hosting a harvest festival at the beginning of Autumn! This year, we celebrated the festival the Polish way and received Polish dancers dressed in charming folk costumes:). It was a lovely evening in spite of the rainy weather! During the two weeks preceding the festival, we learned all about Poland in our classrooms…We looked at pictures of people and places in Poland, dressed up in folk clothes, listened to Polish music, learned about the artwork of Tamara de Lempicka and much more! We even made delicious paczki donuts:). YUM! Happy Birthday Lucy, William and Mathew!
