Thanksgiving and More -Taylorsville-

Look at how adorable we look in Pilgrim and Native American clothes?! It’s been our school tradition to host a Thanksgiving celebration every November. At the party, our parents dress as Native Americans and we dress as Pilgrims. After each one of us greets their parents with a rose, we sing our Thanksgiving songs then we all feast on delicious food! At the end of the party, we take home the Mayflower boats we built with clay and filled with candy:). During the weeks preceding the celebration, our classroom shelves burst with delightful lessons about the story of Thanksgiving, corn printing, corn rubbing, counting with acorns, kernel tweezing, sewing and much more! We made our own corn fritters and cranberry bread! YUM! We also popped black, white and yellow kernels to make pop-corn…Did you know that we painted with cranberries and experimented with cranberry juice, lemon juice, water and baking soda?! We created some fizzing bubbles in the process:). Happy Thanksgiving:).
