Thanksgiving Fun:). Taylorsville

We enjoyed learning about the story of Thanksgiving, how the pilgrims arrived to America and made friends with the Native Indians! Our classroom shelves were full of many cool lessons! In art, we made corn prints, and rubbed Indian corn. In science, our sink or float lesson included popcorn and kernels of different colors. Did you know that we made popcorn dance?!!! Baking soda and vinegar do the trick:). We also made our own corn fritters, and honey cornbread, and popped kernels of different colors. We never got any colored popcorn though:(. Did you know that Pocahontas was a Native American?! We looked at her actual pictures and learned about her story. Jim Thorpe was another Native American athlete that we learned about. We got to listen to his actual voice on an old record:).
